Disney's Dining Plan

Let us get to the main point why you are reading this article and skip the unnecessary introductions. You want to know how good free can really be and what it will taste like.

Once in a while, Disney runs promotions, especially on vacation packages, with free add-ons like a Disney Dining Plan. Let's see what's in it for you:

One Snack, one Table-Service Meal, and one Quick-Service Meal every day of your package stay for every person in your group who is three or older.

You don't have to eat all that all at once. You can eat your way through your Disney vacation however you like. But watch out! You should use up all the meal and snacks benefits you have because on the day you are scheduled to leave, you won't be able to use it anymore after midnight.

There are over a hundred Quick-Service and Table-Service restaurants included on the Disney Dining Plan, many of them restaurants with Disney Character Dining.

With the Disney Dining Plan, below are some of many places you must try. It makes it even more delicious to know that you are eating for free! Some of these popular places may require reservations, so don't forget to do that.

Cape May Café

The Cape May Café at the Beach Club Resort is a nostalgic New England-style all-you-can-eat buffet in a beach-themed restaurant with Disney Characters. Mickey Waffles for breakfast - yep, we said Mickey waffles! And a seafood buffet fest for dinner. Try the crab legs and the saltwater taffy.

Whispering Canyon

Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge is a family-style restaurant that will transport you right to the Old West. Smoked ribs, pork, and chicken are dishes that you must try, if you like meat. Assuming you have room the next day, have a cowboy breakfast of buttermilk pancakes.

Disney's Hollywood Studios 50s Prime Time Café

Imagine the food and ambiance projecting you back in time to make you feel like you're on a 1950s television show. You'll experience good 'ol American food at its finest. Yes, your fantasies CAN come true!

Akershus

Norway is not exactly famous for its food. Would it amaze you if your food comes with Cinderella, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty? One character meal you can try out is the Akershus, which you can find in Epcot's Norway Pavilion. The excellent meals here are buffet style - no menu. Expect that your server will bring you hash browns, hot sausages, eggs, and bacon, so better pick up your cheese, fruits, and pastries before you sit down.

Sanaa

This breath-taking restaurant is decorated with one of the biggest collections of African art in the United States. You will be able to see one of the newest "must sees" of Disney World's Animal Kingdom, the Kidani Village, where the restaurant is located. Not only does Sanaa have hummus, they also have 3 different kinds of flatbreads with amazing dips. The tandoori chicken is a must try!

Via Napoli

Located in the Italy Pavilion at Epcot, Via Napoli is one of the newest restaurants at Disney World. It's a beautiful place with pizzas cooked in delightful wood-burning ovens. And if you love to see a clean bathroom, you will love these! Ricota balls cooked by frying is also a must-try. Here at Disney World, you will never run out of new stuff to try.

Hoop Dee Doo

You will need 2 table service credits for this awesome restaurant in Pioneer Hall at Fort Wilderness called Hoop Dee Doo. And the reason is that it's a Dinner Show. Food such as strawberry shortcake, fried chicken, ribs, and cornbread are available here.

Contempo Café

When you don't feel like eating in a restaurant that takes forever to serve your food, there's always Contempo Café, which is actually a Quick Service Meal. Imagine a computer screen taking your orders because this is what you will actually experience in this restaurant. Honestly, it's amazing!

Hint: Try the flatbread pizza or the mahi fish sandwich. And the desserts are memorable, especially the cherry-filled chocolate cupcake.

Liberty Tree Tavern

When looking for the Liberty Tree Tavern, obviously it is situated in no other than the Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom. Just look for the Liberty Tree, and it's just there beside it. Traditional American food such as turkey and pot roast are served in this restaurant, so make yourself comfortable in the Betsy Ross room.

Kouzzina by Cat Cora

Kouzzina is Greek for kitchen, and at Kouzzina, a casual family restaurant on Disney's BoardWalk, you can try some classic Greek foods such as spanikopita - which is phyllo dough filled with spinach and feta - calamari, Greek salad, lamb and seafood stew.

And the desserts! Some actually use their fingers to eat every morsel of the chocolate lava cake.

People keep on coming back to this place, and I'm sure you will, too.
